Angry The Horrible Lies

Whaling supporters in Japan have recently posted hate videos on Youtube.com about Australians and their opposition to whaling. In the videos and their descriptions, they accuse Australians of being "mperialists, racist, bigots, and horrible to animals. They show footage of cruelty to Kangaroos by a few evil people (a baby roo being stomped into the ground), and use this to justify the painful destruction of hundreds of whales in the Antarctic, and are trying to make commercial whaling legal. In essence, they wish to undo all efforts to make this horrible practice one for the history books.

Yes, you find nasty people in every country and culture so it's always possible to find an example of someone who's worse than you. That's why we need to find universal values rather than cultural ones ....

Well after the video that the Australians released to the media today i cannot see many people backing the Japanese...if anything this video will cause mass out cry and i for one am very glad that the Australian government has backed the release of it to the public...for now we can all see just how cruel and evil these Japanese whalers and supporters are first hand with up close footage....im currently fighting this battle too and this video couldn't have come at a better time. For those of you who haven't seen it im sure you will...it basically shows a whaling ship harpooning a whale and you see it struggling for dear life...it's heartbreaking to watch and makes the anger raise up inside...it also shows a whaling vessel dragging a whale on board it's ship that they have killed and it is with it's calf...which they also brutally kill....now the world can see what they do and hopefully we can ban this all together...after all the Japanese are only using the loophole in the whaling regulations to do what they do...we need to close this loophole now...scientific whaling is not real..it's a sham....at the end of the day whales are rare and many are endangered and at the end of the day it is the whales that count...we need to stop not just the Japanese but also the Icelandic people and few Canadians that also practice it by using loopholes...and the we can fight the other battles and boy are there thousands...only recently our government in the UK decided to pass a law on fake psychics...now come on...whats more important...the environemnt and conservation...passing laws that really matter and can make a real change in the world or just passing rubbish like that.

I've been thinking about what to say on this this thread since I read it a couple of days ago, but was so gobsmacked I couldn't think propely about it. The human race, all though continually doing unbelievably stupid things and acting like it is obsessed with destroying the world and everything in it (i.e. by whalehunting), still manages to make me speachless; I really can not get over how childish this is. It is no different at all from how little kids think:

'So and so does it, so why can't I?'

I just can not comprehend why people decide to point the finger at others and by doing so make issues (which they apparantly 'care' about) worse, instead of acting responsible and actually listen to what the other has to say. YES a lot of bad things go on in the world, but does that really mean that we all have the right to go round killing rare and endangered species? Of course not! We should all be coming together and cracking down on these huge problems instead of fighting each other over which form of destruction is of isn't acceptible.
Sometimes I just really want to bang peoples heads together and tell them to grow up and start being responsible for the world they live in, instead of being selfish!
(But I suppose, if people had acted responsible in the first place, we wouldn't have caused this 'war'...)

.

Not only that, their footage of kangaroo killings is like 20+ years old. They can' even find any footage from under 10 years ago...
