Rescue!

Yesterday I thought I heard something above the kitchen, had a bit of a worry incase it was mice, then worried incase it was a wasp or bee nest but then heard and thought no more of it.
I came in at lunch time and the house was quiet except fot the noise in the kitchen again, I thought it was a fluttering noise rather than scratching, there was no oral noise. I hoped I had located it in the big sivery hose thing that runs across the kitchen cupboards from the ventilator. I couldn't get it off so ended up cutting it with scissors, very warily worried incase a rat or mouse or something would dart out at me and knock me off the ladder. As soon as the iscission was a few inches I could see a bird starring at me, it was a female sparrow. I cut a bit more and it flew out and hit the livingroom window. My daughter was able to catch it and she released it unharmed but probably very hungry and thirsty.

A nice happy end to the story except I have to explain a ventilator hose with a hole in to his nibs when he come in.
But I shall impress him with the lovely clean cupboard tops which were disgusting greasy and dusty which I cleaned while I had the ladders out - don't bother asking the last time I cleaned up there - I will lie .

Nice one Goosey. Cupboard tops . I cover mine in cling film and - occasionally - rip it off and replace it. Much easier than hacking away at accumulated muck
