Day Trip to Fraser's Hill, Malaysia 8 March 2007

Hi,

I went back to Fraser's Hill today hoping to get a few more additional species for my annual bird list. Fortunately, I get what I wanted. Not many photographs because I want to concentrate on getting more birds this time around. Arrived quite late, no thanks to the traffic in Cheras. The list for today (10.30am - 6.15pm) including lunch and resting time in between
  1. House Crow
  2. Yellow-vented Bulbul
  3. Blue Nuthatch
  4. Greater Yellownape
  5. Golden Babbler
  6. Everett's White-eye
  7. Bronze Drongo
  8. Lesser Racket Tailed Drongo
  9. Mountain Fulvetta
  10. Yellow-bellied Warbler
  11. Black-capped Babbler*
  12. Chestnut-capped Laughing Thrush
  13. Long-tailed Sibia
  14. Blue-winged Minla*
  15. Black-throated Sunbird
  16. Silver-eared Mesia
  17. Grey-chinned Minivet
  18. Mountain Imperial Pigeon
  19. Fire-tufted Barbet
  20. Black-browed Barbet
  21. Large Niltava
  22. Little Pied Flycatcher
  23. Fire-breasted Flowerpecker*
  24. Streaked Spiderhunter
  25. Mountain Bulbul
  26. Red-headed Trogon
  27. Black Laughing Thrush

  29. Speckled Piculet*
  30. Lesser Yellownape*

Always worth the try, apparently?
What are your excellent pictures? Is the second one related to the European Robin?
Cheers, Paul

Guy F and JoanB,

The forest birds are much colorful compared to the species found in urban gardens. I will be going to a mangrove next week, hoping to get a glimpse of the mangrove pitta and next month......taman negara

Stay tuned to my posting or better still, just pop over to my blog at nature2pixel.com for more updates on my birding trips.
