Exploration in Taman Rimba Ampang 7/2/2007
A week ago, while I was walking (for my usual inspection) in Putrajaya Wetland, I noticed some of the trees are fruting. On the spot, I called up a friend who conduct research inside the forest of Malaysia and enquiried about the fruiting season. She replied that some of the trees are beginning to bear fruits.
So, I decided to make a visit to Taman Rimba Ampang with a birding friend. I spent about 2 hours in the early morning (7am-9am) today - hoping to get a few species to be added to my annual list (current status:111 species). The new species for my list includes
Orange-bellied Flowerpecker
Purple-naped Sunbird
Brown Barbet
Gold-whiskered Barbet
Red-eyed Bulbul
Striped Tit Babbler
Blue-crowned Hanging Parrot
