I had heard this cuckoo (Cuculus canorus) and on and off for 15 minutes or so. Then I realised the call was loud, on the move and right above me, I was able to follow it with my eyes and saw it land in a tree - but I couldn't see it even with binoculars. Then a minute or so later it was on the move again calling as it flew back over the Spartelmeer (small lake in the NPZK) where it had first come from. I took as many in-flight pictures as I could most were blobs in the sky but this one you can see the shape. I can't crop anymore or it won't be accepted in to the gallery and if I resize it loses the sharpness even more. Then I saw it land in a tree and was able to get a few more piccies - shame one isn't frontal, but I never expected to get a cuckoo photo at all so I was really pleased!
