I heard my first one of the year today at the Amsterdamse Waterleiding Duinen. Last year this was the only place I heard one, although I am constantly out wandering.

I am so pleased to say I heard cuckoo's in the Zuid kennemerland NP on 2nd June. I heard one then I heard another in the distance replying. I was in a part of the NP Ihave only recently started visiting and this is the only time I have ever heard them in NPZK.
I have heard them in the Amsterdamse waterleiding duinen, April/may time in the past three years. The landcape of the area I heard them there was much the same as in the NPZK where I heard them - vast expanses of sandy scrubby land, water in the vacinitity and clusters of trees every now and again. Never in lush green or woodland areas.
