Snowy owls
Since the weekend there has been a snowy owl on Texel, (one of the islands in the north of Holland) and it is only the second time in a century one has been seen in the Netherlands. The last time one was seen was on one of the other islands in 2002.
They don't know why the female has flown so far south from Greenland, Northern Scandanavia and Siberia. Maybe she was looking for food of just flew with the wind. She shouldn't have problems surviving though as there is plenty of food for her and she is fit and healthy.
Such beautiful creatures, but I know so little about them, so what do others know?
