Whats' your most spectacular local bird?

I have a Sparrowhawk that visits my back garden on a fairly regular basis and it's a really stunning bird of prey, especially when it's hovering over the bushes looking for it's next meal.

What's the most spectacular bird in your area?

Heron

Think the most spectacular bird that visits our garden is a grey heron. If you catch him/her early enough, usually in our pond, it takes off ,makes a loud cwark noise and flies to a rooftop looking down on us. The other birds tend to try to chase it off but I think they get put off by it's beak. A fantastic bird. Our fish don't think so though.DD

Sparrowhawks + Hobbies add some local drama, but Ring-necked Parakeets probably elicit more attention with bright plumage + especially sound, though their presence is a mixed blessing!

I have to go along with Doris, the Grey Heron strutting around the goldfish pond was a memorable sight.
