Planets on view in NW Europe
Not a very good picture (I had been drinking a fine Turkish wine) but shows Jupiter close to the Moon.

Acually in the field of view but too pale to see is Venus. Further across the sky was Uranus.
I know this because a bloke at the 'bus stop told me so it must be correct. He was very pleased with this haul but is looking forward to Mars coming into a good view in a few months time.

Jupiter Moon Venus Made up a "triangle in the night sky last night. Just after sunset.Mars visible in the East later. Then Saturn arose not long after.I use Heavens Above to check position on their whole sky chart.Along with satellite visibility and timings.

Last night was a bit hit and miss with cloud, one minute it was clear then the next full or partial cloud cover. Then I had a orange street light in my line of vision. I struggled like mad to get the moon in focus and couldn't (and I just couldn't remember what setting I used last for clear lunar photo's ) , but I got three stars.
Tonight it is full cloud and a bit misty so I haven't been able to try.
But for now this image from 26-02-2012 will have to do.

Okay, the man at the 'bus stop was wrong: the 'nearest' to the moon was Venus, Jupiter was further away to the SW ...
Still, an interesting sight.

Jupiter and Venus are looking very close this evening.
It is odd though when I look at them on the photo's I have taken they look quite further apart than to the naked eye, it is impossible to get any perspective I suppose.

I can't even start to pretend I know what you are talking about - sorry .
Edit: I have just read the NASA link on your last post and see that fovea is to do with the eye and nothing at all to do with settings on my camera!

A beautiful clear night. Here are tonight images taken at about 20.50, is it Venus above the moon and Jupiter below?

I was just locking up for the night when I looked out and saw things had moved. I couldn't see Jupiter at all it was behind a house.
This was almost exactly two hours later than the other two images at 22.55
Apparantly tonight, Venus, the moon and Jupiter are all in a vertical line - must remember to look out
