My husband and I, have just returned from 5 weeks holiday in Thailand, New Zealand and Australia. One of our abiding memories will be seeing the nightly flight of thousands of flying-fox bats leaving the botanical gardens in Sydney. They travel in a fairly small corridor, some just about 20 feet above your head. As they are so big (almost the same size as a crow) it is a sight you could not miss. Wonderful to witness - even if they are seen as a pest by some! Visit
