I watched most of it and though it was some great TV. Bear Grylls is definitely more interesting in front of the camera than some of the other survival guys. It's one of those types of programmes that could easily turn into a lecture, but Bear did a good job of keeping it entertaining.
Some of the sweeping camera shots looked like they were filmed from a crane/rig, and the lighting looked like there were a few of lamps/reflectors around, so you didn't get the feeling that he was alone, but .
That said, to drop into the jungle with just a small knife and a water bottle, Bear Grylls makes Ray Mears pyrex bowls look very out of place
