Just returned from Assam and Nagaland in North-east India. Bit of a hectic trip, thankfully missed the bombings in Guwhati. Still had a few mishaps with our plane to Guwhati having to return to Calcutta mid flight due to a crashed private jet blocking Guwhati's one runway. Our boat got stuck on a sandbank on the Brahmaputra River.
Kaziranga NP was wonderful with an elephant ride at dawn to see the Indian Rhinoceros, various deer and Wild Eles. I managed to snap a few Dragonflies, Butterflies, Mantids, Beetles and other creepy crawlies during the trip. Wonderful sunsets on the river. Great tribes in Assam with friendly villagers frenzied dances and lethal rice wine. Bit dissapointed that all except the very old Naga Tribes people were now in Western dress. No human skulls or shrunken heads but various other skulls. I'll post some photos in the next few weeks once I've got sorted out.
