I would love to have a Digiscope set-up. I have two cameras, a Fuji 602Z which was my first digital camera, and a Fuji 9500. The 602z has a 35 to 210 mm lens, power zoom and two memory cards - compact flash and Smart Media. Then I bought a Fuji S9500 which has a manual zoom - 28mm to 600mm! OK, up to 300mm is optical, then it doubles up to 600 digital, but with the option of 10 megapixels, (I use 3 or 5) the pics are pretty good. With a tripod I have managed to get some interesting shots but nothing like I have seen with a scope. I decided to hold on to my 602z as the second hand price was silly. My partner uses it from time to time, but the S9500 does most of what I want, and for the price it is good value. This also has two cards - Compact Flash and an XD Card. I have 1gigabyte sizes of each, which allows me to do about half an hour of quite good video if necessary, or around 2,000 pictures. Both cameras use AA bateries, so I go out armed with about a dozen. These are sometimes needed when its very cold. I only use rechargable, from 2000Ah to 2500ah. Both cameras can be used totally manual in all respects.
If I print I use an Epson R1800.
