I saw something a few weeks back on television (David Attenborough's Life in cold blood), about Geckos living in Bangkok (I think) doing exactly the same, staking out moths from the top of lamp posts.
You say they have been introduced inadvertantly, I take it they are causing no problems (except to the poor old moths
) or you would have said.
You certainly do have some brilliant and amazingly draught tolerant reptiles in Australia.
