The adult birds would fly above my head at about thirty feet and at other times would stand on the rocks as near as twenty yards away while I examined their nest.
Sadly my camera was an old pentax and my pictures were not exceptional. How I wish Digital had been invented in those days. I have scanned some of my photographs and have edited them with the Abode Photoshop elements 2.0.
Although showing pictures of eggs is not normally approved, I think however that the sequence of egg photographs I am showing has to be an essential part of the study because as far as I know no one has written about the difference in colour and pattern of Osprey eggs.
In England it is taboo to take pictures of bird nests and their contents, and quite rightly so because of the possibility of the bird deserting the nest through disturbance. I do hope this now applies to all birds in all countries.
