Humped backs are usually seen in the North Atlantic. This one is thought to be hunting as there are alot of young herring in this area at the moment.
He was first spotted up the coast by Den Helder in May, he was then seen off the coast of Ireland in September - it was identified as the same whale by its dorsal fin. It is 15m long and I am glad to say appears to be in good health  . |
Unlucky better luck next time. There's been afew minke whales near me on the North east coast.
