Well, the Americas are another problem - need to start an appropriate thread. This is the
biggest problem with non-air transport - that it takes so much time! Certainly not in Europe, quite the opposite,
but travelling from Europe to Africa, East Asia or the Americas (or any combination

) does add several days to your journey. Okay for the young (gap year students) or the older (retired) or just the stinking rich but is a problem for 'normal' people!

Edit: just thought, that's still almost certainly going to involve plane travel for anyone living anywhere other than the USA, although I suppose you could take a cruise!
