Travel without plane to and in Africa
I'm looking up the options for travel without airplane through the various continents.
Both "ends" of Africa - Egypt ( Welcome to Egyptian Rail Roads ) and South Africa ( Train travel in South Africa | Cape Town-Johannesburg from £32/$58 with sleeper ) have good or transport systems but in between it all looks very iffy!
I recall that Michael Palin did Africa from north to south but I don't recall his route. ANybody remember?
