Well, I've found a wildlife aspect to the boat (I don't mind boats but they get a bit boring after the first twelve hours, I find
) - I'd much rather go by train (tricky if you're going to the Americas
) but the wife finds them very relaxing and they're almost like luxury hotels nowadays - a little luxury is useful when you're going to be camping ....
But I didn't realise that the Bay of Biscay is one of the best places to see whales, large and small -

So I won't tuck the camera too deeply into the rucksack!
