Well, Barcelona has some nice parks and is one of my favourite cities but hardly 'wilderness'! Last time we were in Catlunya we stayed at Calella de Palafrugel
Calella de Palafrugell - Villas in Calella de Palafrugell which is on a nice bit of coast which isn't intensely touristic - some good walks and a very well labelled botanical garden. Nearby Palafrugell
Palafrugell - Villas in Palafrugell has an interesting museum of cork. One of the saddest things, for me, about the Mediterranean is the loss of the ancient cork forests - I'm surprised that there's no campaign to conserve them ....
